Q: We love your puppies! Why don’t you have a waitlist just like everyone else?
A: Well, because we know Aussies. And we know Aussie lovers!
Almost every Aussie lover we have met has a “favorite look” that they are going for. Unlike Goldendoodles, or Border Collies, or other (equally wonderful) dogs that mostly look similar, Aussies are celebrated for their rainbow color spectrum.
Split face, marbled eyes... Forget the regular ol’ red/blue and tri/merle divides. Aussies come in all candy colors!
And more importantly:
Our puppies’ eyes change quite a bit until they are 4-5 weeks old.
For us, it’s really not worth the heartbreak when someone who has been following a puppy since birth decides to go with a different pup, because of eye color changes in Week 4 or 5. It’s also not fair to the puppy, to be reserved the entire time and then have their future home back out in Week 6 or 7.
We’ve given it tons of thought, and it just makes more sense to us to have people wait until they SEE the particular puppy, and fall in love. Most of the time, the owners feel a magnetic pull to the puppy they choose. Whether or not he/she is the color they thought they wanted.
We don’t want anyone to feel pressured to go with a puppy, just because they’ve been on the waitlist for “red merle male with blue eyes” for 2 years. Looks aren’t everything.
